Nokia C6-01 Vs Nokia N8: The Photos!

The Nokia C6-01 is the latest Symbian ^3 handset to hit the shops, following in the footsteps of the Nokia N8 and Nokia C7. What's it like in comparison to its siblings, however? We've been playing with both the Nokia C6-01 and the Nokia N8 – join us after the break to see the photographs...

Although both the Nokia N8 and the Nokia C6-01 are Symbian ^3 smartphones, Nokia has taken a very different approach with its latest handsets. The Nokia N8 is packed with the latest and most unique technology, and although the Nokia C6-01 has an equal amount to offer, some of the features are slightly more mainstream.

The Nokia N8 gets an amazing 12-Megapixel camera, for instance, with Carl Zeiss optics. The Nokia C6-01 can't quite compete, but it still offers outstanding value for money, with an 8-Megapixel snapper with full focus technology.

The Nokia N8 also leads the way when it comes to integrated memory, boasting 16GB of storage space, in addition to a microSD slot capable of supporting cards of up to 32GB. Those wanting to store music and videos on the Nokia C6-01 will also be able to add a microSD card, again with support for cards of up to 32GB.

That's not to say the Nokia C6-01 doesn't get the better of its big brother in some ways, however. It may feature a smaller screen – at 3.2 inches rather than 3.5 inches, but the Nokia C6-01 is the first Nokia to get CBD (ClearBlack Display) technology, offering stunning colour reproduction that even the Nokia N8 fails to match.

It's the design of the two handsets that differ the most, however. With squarer styling, the Nokia N8 looks more industrial than its little brother, a feature that's backed up by the incredibly tough anodised aluminium casing.

We love the design of the Nokia C6-01, and it's one of the smallest touchscreen smartphones we've seen in recent years. The Nokia C6-01 feels tiny in comparison to the Nokia N8, as the bezel around the compact screen is also smaller, making for a much more pocket friendly phone.

Quality is also excellent, with a metal screen surround and backplate adding a hardy feel. It can't quite match the Nokia N8 for robustness, but it's not far off.

Picking between the two is difficult, and we keep swapping between them as our everyday phone. If it's features you're after, the Nokia N8 is definitely the one to have, but we can't avoid being drawn to the Nokia C6-01 due to its compact and stylish design.
