Yesterday we were looking at what Nokia had to offer in a Windows Phone handset, with cameras at the top of our list. Today we're looking at music, as we think Nokia could differentiate its Windows Phone products by offering the best music experience on the market. Read on after the jump to find out more...
Nokia has come up with lots of innovative services in the past couple of years, with Comes With Music at the top of many peoples' lists. There are lots of other reasons to buy a Nokia if you're a music fanatic, however, and if Nokia can build them into its Windows Phone handsets we think it's onto a winner.
Nokia Windows Phone: Killer Camera Skills!
Comes with Music and Ovi Music Unlimited
Nokia has a fearsome and unrivalled track record when it comes to music services on a mobile platform. Its Comes With Music service proved incredibly popular, as did Ovi Music Unlimited in later years – offering a year's subscription to as much music as you could download. Although these services have been stopped by Nokia, we're currently waiting for the replacement. If it's anywhere near as good, then Windows Phone devices should offer outstanding music abilities.
Ovi Music
Nokia also offers millions of DRM-free songs and albums through its Ovi Music store. You can buy and download the latest tracks straight to your Nokia – something which will no doubt prove handy on Windows Phone devices.
MP3 files
Unlike lots of rival products, Nokia handsets play back MP3 files without needing to convert them into different formats. This means you can simply drag and drop your existing music collection, straight to your Nokia. If Nokia continues this for its Windows Phone devices, the future is looking bright.
Your music as ringtones
Users of current Windows Phone handsets have trouble implementing their music as ringtones. With Nokia handsets, it couldn't be easier. We hope this feature is carried through to Nokia Windows Phone smartphones, as we can't imagine going back to the days of paying for ringtones.
Earphones and 3.5mm
We've seen some truly shocking earphones with music devices in the past, but this is happily a trend that Nokia avoids. It provides some excellent in-the-ear solutions with devices like the Nokia N8, offering impressive music playback quality. Devices also come with a 3.5mm headphone jack, so you'll be able to plug in your own headphones.
USB on the go
There's nothing better than being able to update your music on the move, and we hope Nokia implements this technology into its Windows Phone handsets. That way, you'll easily be able to store music on different memory sticks, updating your phone when you feel like a change.
