Nokia has led the mobile phone industry in many ways over the past decade and more, and we think it still has loads to teach its rivals. Join us after the break, where we'll be looking at design details that can take the Windows Phone OS to the next level...
On several occasions, Nokia has shown that it's capable of producing the best hardware out there. Nokia phones have proved innovative and incredibly robust in the past, and we think it's something that will differentiate Nokia Windows Phone devices from their rivals.
Materials
Where lots of rivals make their phones out of plastic, Nokia has led the way with the Nokia N8, producing one of the toughest handsets we've ever seen. The casing is constructed out of a single piece of aluminium, which is anodised to add an extra layer of robustness. If Nokia engineers this same level of quality into its Windows Phone devices, it's onto a winner.

Keyboards
Nokia has made some outstanding keyboards in the past, with the Nokia N900 and the Nokia N97 Mini great examples. Our Nokia N97 Mini is still going strong after a couple of years, with no sign of the mechanism wearing out. The Nokia N900 offers one of the most comfortable hardware keyboards around, proving you can have both a touchscreen and keyboard without making compromises.
Go green
Not only can you be happy about the quality of your Nokia, you can also be happy in knowing that you're doing your bit for the environment, as Nokia has repeatedly won awards for using environmentally friendly materials and operating in an efficient manner.
Size
With rival products getting bigger and bigger, phones like the Nokia C6-01 show that Nokia is happy to go against the flow, and produce something different. The Nokia C6-01 is one of the most compact touchscreen smartphones on the market, and is truly pocket friendly. Not everybody wants huge smartphones, so a Windows Phone device with more compact dimensions could be a huge hit for Nokia.
Features
Nokia leads the way when it comes to features – from the outstanding cameras, to software like Ovi Maps. Bundled with a Windows Phone operating system, it could be an unbeatable combination. From the amount of comments we've had, we also know you like Nokia's older technology – such as FM transmitters that let you listen to your music collection on external radios. Again, features like this would help to differentiate Nokia Windows Phone devices.
