Sucker Punch follows a young girl in the 1950s about to be lobotomized after being institutionalised by her wicked stepfather. Retreating to an alternative reality as a coping strategy, she envisions a plan which will help her escape from the facility. As she attempts to escape the asylum she calls upon the aid of her friends and fellow inmates.

Starring Emily Browning as Baby Doll, Abbie Cornish as Sweet Pea, Jena Malone as Rocket and Vanessa Hudgens as Blondie, this is a powerful all-girl cast that draws as much from girl power as it does from the Anime and Manga sources it so heavily leans on.

We downloaded the Sucker Punch trailer on our Nokia N8 and have to admit it looks really good. Images are sharp and the soundtrack pumping. Weighing in at just under 12MB it’s worth getting hold of Sucker Punch via Wi-Fi instead of hammering your 3G connection.
