Anyone would think that Angry Birds was the only game in the world at the moment but for anyone who knows better, then you’ll know that Fruit Ninja is just addictive and silly. The premise of the game is easy: fruit flies up into the air and using the your finger on the Nokia N8 or Nokia C7 screen you simulate the blade action of your katana to chop the fruit in half.

The more fruit you cut the better your score and the more a ninja it would seem you are. It’s not quite as clean cut as that as every now and then a stray bomb is thrown into the mix. Should you strike the bomb then the screen goes boom and depending on which version of the game you’re playing you’ll either die or lose 10 seconds.
Let’s talk about the different modes of play with Ninja Fruit on the Nokia N8. You can choose from Classic Fruit Ninja, Arcade mode or Zen mode. Classic mode gives you three lives, miss a fruit and you lose a life, to raise the highest score. This is the hardest mode to master. Arcade mode is the one where you hit a bomb you loses points and you have 60 seconds to get the highest score. Aim for the stripy bananas and you’ll get power ups, while slicing multiple fruit with one swipe gets you critical points too.
Fruit Ninja Zen mode gives you 90 seconds of furious fruit fun with no bombs, so it’s all about the slice and dice and how quickly you can cut those Kumquats.
Fast, furious and fun, Fruit Ninja glides like a dream on the screen of the Nokia N8 and you’d almost believe the game was devised just to show the device off to its best advantage. We’re loving the game and we reckon you’ll go sliced bananas over it too. What’s more, at only £1 it’s also a bargain to boot!
