Love football? We do. That's why we leapt at the chance to download Pebol Beach. It's a passing game of beach football. Players take turns to pass the ball to each other in challenging circumstances. It's more challenging than it looks. Is this free Ovi Store game worth a download? Read our review to find out.
The premise is simple. Players take it in turn to pass (or attempt to) pass the ball to another player. The first to pass the ball accurately to the other three, five or 10 times wins the match.
Don't be fooled by the cartoony looks of Pebol Beach. It's very challenging. To pass the ball you simply drag your finger across the screen in the trajectory you wish to kick the ball.
It's a task made more challenging by obstacles such as hills and palm trees in your path, so you're required to kick the ball past them to get to the other player. That, and you've got the wind affecting the path of your ball, so you need to take the wind strength into account too.
If the wind is blowing towards your goal, only a small movement is needed, or else your pass will float off screen and vice-versa. It is tough. Good luck just trying to score one, yet there's something addictive about it. The pleasingly warm cartoon-like graphics help too. The rest of the presentation could be better. We didn't spot any instructions telling you how to play, leaving you to figure it out for yourself.
Despite its difficulty Pebol Beach is a nice little distraction sure to have you determined to score points no matter how frustrating it can be. That's the beauty of Pebol Beach. It's free after all. So why not give it a try.
