Nokia C1-02 Unboxing Review (Photo Heavy)

The Nokia C1-02 is a budget priced mobile phone with a nice bright screen, big buttons, Bluetooth packed away inside, as well as access to Ovi Mail and Ovi Chat. Want to know what you get for your not-very much money spent? Join us after the jump as we reveal all with our Nokia C102 unboxing review.

We were recently asking whatever happened to the Nokia C1-02 as it had been announced but never launched. Well, it seems Nokia UK has answered our call as the Nokia C1-02 just landed on our doorstep.

The first thing you notice about the Nokia C1-02 is how small the box is. Gone are the days of over-sized packaging, as this eco-friendly approach creates less of an impact on your carbon footprint. That's not to say you won't find everything you need stuffed away inside the box.

The Nokia C1-02 sits nicely packed at the back of the fold-in tap, which when you pull open reveals the charger and user manual. The handset itself feels amazing solid in the hand for such an entry-level mobile phone. Weighing in at 77g and measuring 108 x 45 x 14mm it's a nice and compact phone.

The backplate and battery of the Nokia C1-02 fit snugly and once you've powered it up you'll find a nice and bright 1.8-inch screen. The Nokia S40 OS chgs along at a decent rate and while there isn't much to see on the Homescreen, other than time and date and the wallpaper, press the Menu button and you'll find a wide array of apps to plug into.

Flip the Nokia C1-02 over and the first thing you notice, or don't notice, is there is no camera, just a speaker! Odd in this day and age of multimedia but it helps to keep the price down and the battery life up! We'll be testing out the Nokia C1-02 over the next couple of weeks, so we'll find out exactly how long the battery lasts. In the meantime, Nokia is quoting the Nokia C1-02 with over 10 hours talk-time and 22 days in standby mode, which is pretty good in our book.

We're waiting for Nokia UK to let us know how much the Nokia C1-02 will cost, as it's not officially launched yet but with an expected price of around 34 Euros, it's going to be a bargain!

    Hi,

This is the first halfway-decent phone I’ve come across that would suit my dad (whose workplace doesn’t allow camera phones). I was wondering if you could cover the phone’s software and operation. Is it the same as every other Series 40 phone? He hates having to use low-budget phones because they don’t even have basic stuff like text size readjustment.

    Thanks!

@Charvi. It comes with S40 6th Edition Lit, so you’ll find everything you need for messaging and texting. We’ll give it a going through in our software review but not spotted any way to make text size bigger yet.

good for college students where camera phones are not allowed……..

Wow! I wasn’t even expecting a reply. So the text size remains tiny? I guess I’ll have to go with the BlackBerry 8830 WE then. Thanks a lot though. :-)
