Over the past couple of weeks we've been thinking about what we'd like to see in a Nokia Windows Phone. From killer cameras, to top music skills, we think Nokia has a lot to offer. We've also been asking for your opinion, however. Join us after the break, to see some of the responses, and the opinions of your fellow NokNok readers...
With class-leading cameras and impressive hardware, Nokia has a lot to offer the smartphone world. The tie-up with Microsoft and its Windows Phone OS sounds like a match made in heaven, with Nokia offering some incredible features, and Microsoft providing a fluid and completely new operating system.
Reader Andy Burgin is positive about the cameras on Nokia Windows Phones, pointing out: “Auto-Focus is the best as the Nokia N8 shows”, a sentiment echoed by Scotlass, who also adds: “If Sywpe support and Bluetooth transfer is added to Windows Phone OS you can could me in!”
Reader Jasper is more pessimistic, stating: “For me, the prospects of windows phone are limited, with it’s interface and features.” This is an aspect where we think Nokia can bring something to the party, however, with the ability to offer features such as Bluetooth sharing, Ovi Maps and removable storage.
We also asked what you guys wanted to see in a Nokia Windows Phone.
Among other things, Bhairav Pardiwala wants to see a really good screen with “almost tablet resolution”, autofocus and an LED flash, and “at least two days constant battery life, as on previous Nokia models”.
Reader Aaron is a big fan of Ovi Maps, stating: “OviMaps: Free voice nav anywhere in the world without using data? Come on. That must stay, or I stay with my E71…” Another feature he'd like to see is “true multi-tasking” - a feature that appeals to lots of you guys.
John Owens is looking forward to getting hold of a Nokia Windows Phone handset, stating: "Also, I always synchronise my contacts and calendar with my desktop outlook, but OVI sometimes deletes contacts from both outlook and my phone. This means I lose contact with valued friends which is incredibly annoying. That is why I was pleased to hear that Nokia will be working with Microsoft in the future. I can't wait to have a Nokia phone that works smoothly with Outlook".
We'd love to hear what you have to say. Are you looking forward to a Nokia Windows Phone? Is there anything in particular you'd like to see?
