Nokia has announced the Nokia N8, Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01 have come in for a Firmware Update to version PR1.2. This isn't the major update we've been waiting for but something of a speed bump to sort out a few minor niggles and streamline the Symbian^3 operating system. The Nokia N8, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01 Firmware Update PR1.2 has been released to solve a number of synchronisation issues that have cropped in up the OS, especially those using Mail for Exchange on MS Server 2010.

For those of us not using Mail for Exchange we'll still want to nab this update a it comes with a couple of new neat app updates everyone uses on a regular basis. The Nokia N8, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01 Firmware Update PR1.2 also includes a new version of Ovi Store as well as a new version of Ovi Maps (SR6).

The Ovi Store client looks like being the same one that rolled out last week, while the Ovi Maps (SR6) update comes with added real-time traffic updates, safety alerts, visibility to parking and petrol stations, speed limit warnings, and improved search and location sharing capabilities, which all sounds pretty good to us.
Nokia N8, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01 Firmware Update PR1.2 is rolling out now as a voluntary update. To get ahold of it go to Go to Applications > Software update or Applications-> Tools –> Software update (depending on thr model you have) on your device and download the update there over the air. You can use Wi-Fi to avoid any additional data costs.

It’s also possible to update software via Ovi Suite. As with all updates these will start to appear by build date, so it make takes a few days to roll out around the world. If you don't get the update straight away, like us, then simply check back on a daily basis until it pops up.
