Nokia Software Updater (NSU) has been available on the PC for some time, but thanks to Nokia Beta Labs – the division of Nokia responsible for new and trial apps – it's now also available for Apple Mac (OS X). Join us after the cut to find out if Nokia Software Updater for OS X is any good...
Nokia Software Updater is the app you'll be needing to install bigger firmware updates, and even some older apps. Until now, NSU has only been available for PC Users, but the later version from Nokia Beta Labs supports Apple's OS X.
Download Nokia Software Updater for Mac from Nokia Beta Labs, and install it in the same way you would any other Apple app. Once it's installed, you'll be told to connect your Nokia handset via USB.
Click on Nokia Ovi Suite on your Nokia, so it knows to connect to your Apple rather than just charging. Nokia Software Updater will automatically search for devices once they're plugged in, and it found our Nokia N8 in seconds.
Once it's up and running, the interface couldn't be easier to navigate and use. You'll instantly be told whether your firmware is up to date, whether you need to download new software, and how to do so if so.
Overall, Nokia Software Updater is a useful app, and we're glad to see it available for Apple OS X users.
