The Nokia C1-02 and Nokia C3-01 Touch and Type may both be candybar S40 phones aimed at the budget end of the feature phone market but they target quite different market segments. The C Series offers 'Classic' features for the consumer to really get their teeth into. We thought as we had both to hand we'd check out the Nokia C1-02 and Nokia C3-01 Touch and Type side-by-side. Read on to find out which one is best for you.
The Nokia C1-02 is the latest budget phone that comes sans camera and has the 'Lite' version of the Nokia S40 operating system on-board. By contrast, the Nokia C3-01 Touch and Type sits higher up the food chain and comes with some pretty full-fat versions of the latest Nokia tech. We get the full Nokia S40 Os, a 5-Megapixel camera and even a touchscreen display. Here we look at what else the two devices have to offer.
Nokia C1-02
The Nokia C1-02 is very much the entry-level device. It has a basic 1.8-inch display with 128 x 160-pixel resolution, which is fine for checking out messages and the odd bit of web surfing. Then there is the fact you won’t find a camera on the Nokia C1-02, which helps keep the price to a minimum. We really liek the keypad, which has the typical array but the buttons are well spaced and making texting a dream. Overall, this is a great little phne for not very much money. Nokia C3-01 Touch and Type
If you really want to make the most of the low-end C Series phones then the Nokia C3-01 Touch and Type is the one for you. However, with a price tag of less than £140 (inc. VAT) SIM free this is still something of a budget number. You’ll find the step up in tech comes in the form of a 2.4-inch screen, as well as the addition of a touchscreen display. This means you can tap away on the screen or use the standard keypad, so you can access you phone whichever way you find it easiest. Then there is the 5-Megapixel camera, which is perfect for takign snaps at parties or out with friends and then uploading them to Facebook there and then and showing everyone else what they're missing out on.
