We've seen some fantastic apps for Symbian ^3 in the past couple of months, with lots of big companies queuing up to release apps for devices like the Nokia N8. Debenhams is the latest, with its app to let you shop on the move, wherever you are. Join us after the break to find out if the Nokia N8 Debenhams app is any good...

The home screen on the Debenhams app is bright, colourful and clean. It features a simple to use menu, including the following options: Shop All, Shop Sale, Wish List, Gift Finder, Stay in Touch, Store Finder and Exit. You can also click the bottom left corner of the screen to see any items that you've added to your shopping bag/order.

The Shop All section is the part of the app you'll be wanting to use when you first go shopping. It takes you to a sub-menu, letting you search for the types of item you want, from Womens clothes, to Lingerie, to Mens' and Kids' clothes. You'll also find Beauty, Gifts and Toys, Home and Furniture and Electricals.

Click on one of the above, and you'll be able to search for the exact type of clothing you're after, again with a huge choice on offer. Pick something you like, and you'll be able to view photographs of it, check sizes, and add to your shopping bag. You can also check for other items in the range.

Shop Sale comes up with a similar list of options, but this time with items that are on sale. Along with displaying the old price, you'll get to check out the sale prices, and thumbnails of items. Click on them, and you'll be able to view more photographs or add them to your bag.

Once you've spotted the items you want, and added them to your bag, it's time to pay. You can click on the Checkout option from your bag, but you'll also have to register before you can go any further. Once you have, you can easily pay for your items, and even get them delivered, all from the comfort of your sofa using your Nokia N8.

The Stay in Touch feature lets you fill in a form with all of your details, so you can get updates of store offers and sales. The Store Finder page simply lists the locations of Debenhams stores - it would have been nice to find GPS functionality to determine the nearest store, but it's still easy to navigate and works well.

At any time, you can click a Back button to return to the previous page, and a Home button to return back to the start menu. All of the buttons are big and easy to press, and navigating the app couldn't be easier. The only downside is a lack of a search function – so you'll have to pick products by type, rather than being able to search for specific items.

Overall, the new Debenhams app is easy to use, and a decent app. It's a shame there's no integrated search function (or we couldn't find it if there is!), but it's still easy to navigate the store, with items clearly defined and split into different sections. If you're into shopping, Debenhams is a great addition to your Nokia N8.
