The Red Riding Hood Movie is brought to you by the director of the first Twilight movie and homes in on that teenage audience with almost wanton glee. So we get Amanda Seyfried and Shiloh Fernandez playing chaste lovers to the backdrop of werewolves and mayhem in a mediaeval village. Catherine Hardwick who directed the first Twilight movie has brought us a modern re-working of the Red Riding Hood story as her new work. It’s based around a mediaeval village that is under attack from wolves. Thrown into this chaos is the love story built around around a young girl, Valerie played by Amanda Seyfried, falls for an orphaned woodcutter, Peter played by Shiloh Fernandez. Naturally, her parents don’t approval so we end up with those ‘will they, won’t they moments’ and lots of long shots of them staring at each other.

We downloaded Red Riding Hood movie trailer on our Nokia N8 and we have to admit it looks and sounds fine. The rather dark scenes aren’t as sharp as on the Nokia E7 but overall it looks good.

You can download the trailer for free from the Nokia Ovi Store. It’s only a 3.1MB download but we still used Wi-Fi as this is the quickest way to get it. The target audience will no doubt love Red Riding Hood but after seeing the trailer we’re left thinking it’s a cynical ploy that won’t really have mass appeal.
