The Nokia E6 is the latest stunning addition to the business-friendly E Series, and brings with it a host of ground-breaking new features. Want to know more? Then read on as we delve into the top 10 things about the Nokia E6 you need to know.

It's certainly not short of wow factor, but the Nokia E6 actually slots in below the flagship Nokia E7 in the Finnish firm's business smartphone lineup. It's a direct successor of the much loved Nokia E72, but adds a touchscreen display to give it even more appeal.

Check out our Nokia E6 Launch Roundup

Let's run through its key strengths and see how they stack up against other Nokia business smartphones:

Slim dimensions: like the Nokia E72 before it, the Nokia E6 is a traditional candybar-style QWERTY phone (unlike the Nokia E7, which has a slide-out keyboard). Yet its dimensions are surprisingly slim for a QWERTY handset – it's just 59mm wide and 10.5mm deep, meaning it'll nestle comfortably in a pocket.

Built to last: the combination of a stainless steel chassis and Gorilla glass screen makes the Nokia E6 one tough customer, and gives it a satisfyingly solid feel in the hand too. Yet it still weighs in at just 133g, just 5g more than the Nokia E72 and significantly less than the 176g Nokia E7.

Touch and type: we've said the Nokia E6 is ground-breaking, and that's no empty boast. The 2.46-inch screen is touch-sensitive, making it the first ever smartphone to come with both a touchscreen and a full QWERTY keyboard – a notable achievement.

Great keyboard: the Nokia E6 is built for business, so you'll typically rely heavily on that QWERTY keyboard for typing documents, emails and the like. Fortunately, Nokia's 37-button keyboard is a pleasure to use, with the keys well spaced out and comfortable under the finger.

High-resolution screen: returning to that touchscreen, the Nokia E6's display comes in at a resolution of 640 x 480, which is decent enough on its own, but when you consider the screen measures just 2.46 inches across, that makes for a class-leading pixel density of 326ppi. The result is a fantastically crisp and vibrant display no matter what you're doing.

Symbian Anna: the Nokia E6 will be launched with the latest version of Symbian^3 on board – Symbian Anna. The Symbian interface has been improved across the board, and is now more touch-friendly than ever, while new versions of most of the key Nokia and Ovi services have been introduced too.

Business essentials: the Nokia E6 takes its business billing fairly seriously, and as such you have Microsoft Mail for Exchange, Communicator Mobile and SharePoint already on board to get you started. Throw in support for up to 10 different email accounts and you've got a serious corporate contender on your hands.

Photo friendly: even the most dedicated business user leaves the office at some point in the day, and the Nokia E6 is quite happy to lose the suit and tie, and slip easily into entertainment mode. You've got an 8-megapixel camera on board with full-focus EDoF sensor and dual LED flash, and you can even take video at 720p.

Storage: while it doesn't quite match the Nokia E7's 16GB of on-board storage, you still get 8GB to play with on the Nokia E6, which should happily gobble up all the documents you wish to throw at it, plus all those photos and video clips you'll be recording in your spare time.

Battery life: the Nokia E6 is designed as a workhorse, but fortunately it has a battery that's equal to the task. You're covered for as much as 14.8 hours of talktime between charges, or a full month if you leave it on standby.

Yes, It would be notable, if it was true!! Fact is, the Motorola Droid Pro was first introduced at the end of 2010 – and combines a touchscreen with a full QWERTY keypad. So please, before you make any further boasts, I think checking your facts before posting would be a good idea.

“making it the first ever smartphone to come with both a touchscreen and a full QWERTY keyboard – a notable achievement.” You are joking right? First? They have had them for years! Even Nokia has had them for years. I think you meant to type something else.

I suspect he meant the first that doesn’t require any flipping, hinging, sliding, etc. This is the exact phone I am looking for. I love my e71, but would like web browsing to be a bit more intuitive. I hate scrolling around with the d-pad. I don’t want a BB torch or any phone with a wide qwerty set-up. The BB style keyboard is what I love, and touch will put this phone right over the edge.
