The world of mobile devices has changed drastically over the past decade, but one area that's often overlooked is the growing focus on how companies tackle environmental issues. Nokia has always taken that responsibility seriously, and has produced a new video to celebrate a decade of eco innovation. Read on for more.

Over the last 10 years Nokia has consistently led the way when it comes to tackling environmental issues and using eco-friendly materials and manufacturing processes.

Where possible, Nokia devices are made from materials that can be recycled or re-used as energy, and the company has made it easy for the consumer to do their part by establishing the biggest voluntary recycling network in the world.

The switch to renewable energy sources has reduced Nokia's CO2 emissions, while all of Nokia's production plants have environmental certification and all phones have a product-specific eco declaration detailing exactly which materials have been used in their production, and their environmental impact.

The last decade has seen Nokia working tirelessly to move its production processes away from the use of harmful substances such as PVC, BFR and RFR and towards more environmentally friendly materials such as bio-plastics and bio-paints.

It's all part of Nokia's ongoing commitment to being a market-leader for change when it comes to engaging with environmental issues, and it's a commitment Nokia fully intends to carry forward through another decade of eco innovation.

For now, enjoy looking back over the last 10 years in the video below – and thanks to our friends at Nokia Conversations for the video.
