We recently took a look at the CameraPro app for the Nokia N8, and it made quite an impact, achieving the impressive result of making the Nokia N8's great camera even better. We revisit the highlights after the cut.

The Nokia N8's 12-megapixel camera doesn't need much of an introduction – for us it's hands down the best smartphone camera on the market today.

So it's not just any app that's going to take what the Nokia N8 already offers the mobile photographer and improves on it, yet that's just what CameraPro manages to do.

The built-in Symbian software does a decent enough job already, but CameraPro takes things to the next level, offering a granular level of control the standard software can't match.

The list of features right at your fingertips on the main screen includes Flash, Effects, Exposure Mode, Focus Range, Autofocus Type, White Balance, ISO Rating, Camera Mode and Settings – this is a serious app for a serious mobile photographer.

Our own conclusion is that the £3 asking price for CameraPro is more than worth it, and since we drew attention to the review over on the Nokia N8 Facebook page it seems the Nokia N8 faithful have been more than happy to agree.

The review has attracted plenty of Likes from the Nokia N8's Facebook following, while commenter Paul Hills points out a strength our review didn't even touch on – that “you can zoom in very close indeed”.

Take it from us – if you enjoy taking photos on your Nokia N8, you'll appreciate the added control CameraPro puts at your fingertips. So why not give it a go – and then let us know what you think in the Comments!
