We're excited by the prospect of the Nokia X7 and Nokia E6 running Symbian Anna out of the box, but Anna will also be coming to existing Symbian^3 handsets too and a new video has emerged showing Nokia N8 users just what they have to look forward to. Join us after the cut for more.

Symbian Anna will be running on Nokia's newest pair of smartphones – the Nokia X7 and Nokia E6 – from day one, but arguably more important is the impact it will have on Symbian^3 handsets that have already been around for a while.

Take the Nokia N8, for instance. It remains one of Nokia's best loved smartphones despite being close to a year old now, so Anna is coming along at a great time to give it a fresh boost of appeal.

There's still a bit of a wait before the Symbian^3 update hits the airwaves, though, but you can get a sneak preview of just what Anna will look like running on the Nokia N8 thanks to a video clip that has surfaced over on My Nokia Blog.

The clip is hosted by José María Gabaldon, manager of Nokia Technology Acceptance in Peru, so you'll need to speak Spanish to understand the audio, but the pictures speak for themselves, so hit the Play button below and enjoy!

I’m based in the UK and I just wanted to know more about the calendar in the symbian 3 – ANNA? I’m thinking about getting the nokia e6-00. I wanted to know if the calendar have colour coding and if is it easier than the current calendar that comes with the nokia e72 that I currently use? Please let me know in as much details as possible about what changes/improvements made to the calendar. The e72 that I use now is good but should have been better. I get frustrated when I can’t just pick a date while using the calendar, iI have to go out of menu and pre-decide date before updating! It should be more intuitive to allow you to pick a date while in menu and perhaps a colour coding or something that could show a snap-shot of important meeting for business and maybe a separte colour that denotes social or something like that!

I also have an n8 phone wich I use mainly for the camera/video capabilities but a bit disappointed on the messaging:- too long winded, too slow to type away quickly hence why not a main phone… stil a good phone though.

I took time to write this contact so hope you will get back to me in reasonable time, if you don’t know the answer then please let me know rether than just leaving it!

I look forward to hearing back from you.

    JP.

i have been a test person on symbian anna in a survey for 2 hours and the calendar i just got a little peek on it, but it was good i had the colors and there was other functions too , easier to make a note in the calender directly from home screen and sync with pc , i dont have all the details like i said i was just a test person 2 months ago . @Hannes – many thanks for that, sounds good. Hope the build was as solid as the when we saw it running on the Nokia X7!

I own E6 and have been using it for two months now. I am very happy with it. Everything works perfectly well. I am not sure about the calendar though, it seems to work like in the “old” Nokia phones but for my purposes that works just fine. I like having several email accounts in use at the same time and browsing is much better now. Well, Opera does not recognize the keyboard but requieres use of touch screen but the default browser is just fine. I also own N97mini which has not been so good experience…It is slow in everything compared to E6. Btw, E6 camera and resolution are both just great!
