Supermarket giant Sainsbury's has its own app and its tied closely in with the Nectar points reward scheme. In fact, if you sign in with your Nectar card ID then you’ll get personalised Nectar points offers on the go, and also be able to view hundreds of the top deals available in-store and online.

It only works in Portrait mode, which we found worked extremely well on our Nokia E7. Once you’re logged in you’ll find a page that offers the Best Deals In Store. You can choose from Food, Drinks, Hopusehold & Pets and Health & Beauty & Beauty, with each one drilling down into more specific offers.
These offers are listed in the same way as on the main website, so you’ll get a nice image, pricing details and how long the offer is running for. With this much information you may find that loading the app in real time takes a little longer than expected.
Running along the foot of the page you’ll find four options: My Offers, Top Deals, Meal Plans and Other. As the name implies My Offers throws up the latest deals in your area, which is great as it means you’ll be able to make the most of your Nectar points at your local store.
Perhaps the best reason to get hold of this app right now is because Sainsbury's are running their feed your family for £50 campaign, and the app offers up recipes for four people, three meals a day, seven days a week.
It’s not just the recipes themselves that make this handy, as the Sainsbury's app also has a handy shopping list that lists all the ingredients you’ll need to feed you family on a budget.
The Sainsbury's App isn’t the most accomplished supermarket app out there, we still think the Tesco app has the edge in terms of functionality, but if you shop at Sainsbury's then it’s worth having on your Nokia E7 (or any other Symbian smartphone).
