Doodle Jump on Nokia N8 Review
Doodle Jump is a neat little platform game that can be played on any Symbian^3 smartphone, such as the Nokia E7, Nokia C7 or Nokia C6-01, we just happened to check out the funny looking game on the Nokia N8. Does it have more than cute graphics on its side, find out with our Doodle Jump on Nokia N8 Review.
‘Kriss Kross’ll make ya….’ ‘House of Pain’ll make ya…’ ‘Doodle Jump’ll make ya…’ you get the idea and while Dooble may not be strictly Hip Hop, the infectious repetition of the one theme certainly has similarities to those jump around singles from a few years back.
Everything you need to know about Doodle Jump is in the name, as the character is a little doodle on a page and you have to get it to jump ever higher, leaping from platform to platform looking for boosters, which may be as basic as a spring to go up a few platforms, to more sophisticated stunts such as spinning hats and even jet packs!
As anyone who is scared of heights will tell you, the trick is to never look down as in the case of Doodle Jump on your Nokia N8 that way lies disaster. You move the dooble about by tapping the sides of the screen and you can play in Portrait as well as Landscape mode. We found it easier to play in Portrait, as it gives you that little bit longer to respond to the platforms coming.
The graphics on Doodle Jump on the Nokia N8 are bright and simple and don’t really task the graphics GPU. But they don’t need to as the simplicity of the game is also its biggest strength. A nice touch is that you’ll see you’re previous scores, or those of your friends you’ve nabbed your Nokia N8 to have a go, plastered on the wall as you climb, spurring you on to the top score.
Doodle Jump is one of those great little games that are incredibly easy to pick up but hard to fully master. It’s a great game for killing time waiting to get home on the daily commute but don’t expect it to be more than it says in its name.
