There's no question about it: the Nokia X7 is one good-looking smartphone. But does the upcoming Nokia X Series contender look so good when it's stripped down to its bare components? We take a closer look after the cut.

It's a fact of life that any new mobile phone needs to go through a number of certification checks before it can be released to the public.

The Nokia X7 is currently in the process of jumping through these various hoops ahead of its upcoming release, and one of those technicalities is passing through the FCC over in the States, the telecoms regulator that needs to give its stamp of approval before any new phone can launch there.

And rest assured: the FCC certainly got up close and personal with the Nokia X7, and in the process gave us a good look at what's going on under the surface of this Symbian Anna-powered good looker.

You can check out the full gallery of images over at Wireless Goodness, but we've given you a sample of the highlights, including a closer look at the Gorilla Glass display, the 8-Megapixel image sensor, and the unique honeycomb-patterned back cover.

Just in case you need the reminder, the Nokia X7 was announced last month, and features a 4-inch AMOLED touchscreen, 720p video-shooting camera, a stunning design and of course Symbian Anna right out of the box.
