We're already pretty excited about seeing Symbian Anna arriving on the new Nokia E6 and Nokia X7, but of course Anna will also be available as an upgrade for other Symbian^3 handsets, and we've just spied a video of it running on the Nokia E7! Read on for all the details.

Nokia announced Symbian Anna – or the Symbian PR 2.0 update, as it was previously known – last month when it unveiled the Nokia E6 and Nokia X7. The only downside is we were told Anna would only be seeing the light of day when the two new handsets went on sale, which we're expecting next month.

Symbian Anna: discover the updates on offer

But Nokia has managed to keep anticipation high by revealing sneak previews of the overhauled operating system running on some existing Nokia favourites. Last week it was the Nokia N8 getting the Anna treatment in a video preview, and now we have a glimpse of it running on the Nokia E7.

Once again the video hails from the wider Nokia world – in this case Nokia France – but the pictures speak for themselves and the four-minute clip gives a full reveal of the exciting overhaul coming the Nokia E7's way possibly as soon as next month.

Among the new features we're expecting to make a difference are a new portrait-mode QWERTY keyboard – less of an issue for the Nokia E7 than for some, of course, given the excellent physical keyboard tucked away under the screen – plus some fresh new icons and a host of performance improvements to the likes of the browser and the much-loved Maps.

So hit Play below to catch Symbian Anna on the Nokia E7, then tell us what you think: are you excited about the new features on offer?

Your thoughts, as always, are welcome in the Comments below.
