Sainsbury's App for Nokia C5-03 Review

Fancy quite literally a one-stop shop on your phone, keeping you on top of all the latest deals and offers from one of the country's leading supermarket chains, all while keeping an eye on those precious Nectar points? Then you need the Sainsbury's App, which we're giving the once over on the Nokia C5-03.

Check out our Nokia C5-03 Review Roundup

The Sainsbury's app essentially comprises three elements: the ability to link up your Nectar Card and view special offers, a visual brochure of all the latest in-store deals, and access to Sainsbury's Feed your family for £50 Meal Plan.

Fire up the app and you're immediately asked to link your Nectar Card by entering your basic account info. This allows you to view all kinds of personalised deals and offers, plus you can get an at-a-glance balance of your points balance and what it's worth.

That all falls under My offers, the first of four options available along the bottom of the screen. Next comes Top deals, which as you'd expect is the latest in store deals broken down by category. Annoyingly, these are listed in groups of three under a main heading, but while you can tap the arrow icons to view more deals, and hit individual offers for more info, you can't drill down into a single category for a full list of what's on offer.

The Meal Plan, meanwhile, is a genuinely useful tool for tapping into Sainsbury's Feed your family for £50 scheme, which lays on recipes and a full eating plan for a whole family for a week, and even gives you a shopping list of ingredients adding up to no more than £50.

The interface is broken down into a day-by-day schedule, complete with recipe breakdowns for each meal. It's a useful tool, and one that can provide inspiration even if you're not looking to feed a whole family.

One niggle we did find while using this app on the Nokia C5-03 is the scroll bar on the right of the screen was pressed very close to the edge of the page, so several times we found it difficult to scroll down on pages with a lot of content.

Other than that, the Sainsbury's app is a handy but unspectacular add-on that's great for the Meal Plan and a quick browse of the latest in-store offers, but doesn't really maximise its potential.
