GT Racing: Motor Academy HD on the Nokia E7 is a racing game in the grand tradition of peddle down and try and not to spin off games. You move the car by pressing on the accelerator with your right thumb and braking with your left. Once the car is rolling you steer by using the accelerometer built into the Nokia E7.

We found it pretty tricky to get to grips with the steering on GT Racing: Motor Academy HD, and it certainly pays if you’re a veteran of such games, which we’re not. The controls are quite sensitive but it helps that in the early stages you’ll find markers on the track showing yout he best line to take, as well as when to kick the brakes in.

GT Racing: Motor Academy HD takes full advantage of the 4-inch screen on the Nokia E7, as it allows you to get really immersed in the game. In fact, the graphics look pretty good for a smartphone game, sure they don’t match a dedicated console but they have plenty of eye-popping colour.

The backdrops don’t feel as though they have much depth to them but they refresh at a decent rate and even when you’re screaming down the back straight at full speed you won’t find any jagging or break up of images, making this one solid and reliable game.

Once you get the hang of the steering you’ll find there is a pretty good racing game to be had with GT Racing: Motor Academy HD.
