We're all waiting excitedly for the first Windows Phone 7-powered Nokia smartphones to break cover, but a senior Nokia exec has promised that once that happens we'll be seeing new phones launching on the platform “every couple of months”. Join us after the jump for more.
Nokia hasn't made the promise outright, but it's pretty clear that everyone at the company is working hard to bring the first Nokia Windows Phone, which will be running the recently announced Mango update, to eager Nokia smartphone fans before the end of this year.

But of course that's just the start of the journey, and Nokia executive vice president of smart devices, Jo Harlow, has claimed in wide-ranging interview with Forbes that we'll be seeing plenty more Windows Phone action once the ball is rolling – comments that have been confirmed by a Nokia spokesperson. “
As [Nokia boss] Stephen Elop has said from the beginning, our target is to deliver our first Windows Phone devices this year, and Jo reiterated that the target still looks good,” the spokesperson said in an email to InternetNews.com. “She has also discussed our intention to continue releasing new devices in a rhythm that might be every couple of months,” the spokesperson added.
The Windows Phone 7 platform may thus far have established itself on handsets made by other manufacturers, but it's clear that Nokia intends to make up for lost time.
