Nokia has announced three new handsets, the single SIM Nokia C2-02, Dual-SIM Nokia C2-03, and luxury Nokia C2-06 Series 40. All sharing a common DNA chassis, the Touch and Type feature phones offer plenty of features for all users.
Nokia Connection 2011 has kicked off in Singapore and as part of the conference, Nokia has released details of its third Dual-SIM feature phone, which also happens to be the third Nokia Touch and Type handset in less than 12 months.
The Nokia C2-02, Nokia C2-03, Nokia C2-06 Touch and Type share a common design, with the differences being in their individual features and finishes. All three run on the Nokia S40 platform, have a slider design to keep them to a sleek 103 x 51.4 x 17mm size that weighs in at 118g. You'll find the new Nokia Browser for S40 helps speed up internet access, while the inclusion of Nokia Maps for Series 40 delivers free route planning when in offline mode.
When it comes to battery life, you'll find that up to 400 hours of standby is on offer, with up to five hours of jibber-jabber a reality.
The Nokia C2-02, Nokia C2-03, Nokia C2-06 Touch and Type has a 2.6-inch touchscreen with 240 x 320-pixel resolution and supports up to 65K colours. Other features include FM Radio, Media Player, Bluetooth, GPRS and EDGE technologies. In terms of memory, you'll find 10MB inside but this can be expanded by adding up to 32GB of additional memory using the microSD slot. The camera is a highly practical 2-Megapixel camera.
Following Nokia's naming conventions, the Nokia C2-02 is the least feature, in this instance the difference being it comes with space for a single SIM inside. The Nokia C2-02 Touch and Type will cost around 75 Euros before taxes and is set to launch Q3.
In many respects the main stay of the new releases, the Nokia C2-03 offers up Touch and Type and DUAL-SIM in a single design. While swapping SIMs used to be an issue, the Easy Swap feature of the Nokia C2-03 allows you to open the slot on the side of the phone and simply insert your new SIM, with no need to reboot. The Nokia C2-03 Touch and Type will cost around 77 Euros and is set to launch Q3.
The Nokia C2-06 Touch and Type differs from the other variants by virtue of having a wider array of colours and finishes, offering the user a little more individuality and personality in their feature phone. The Nokia C2-06 Touch and Type will cost 80 Euros and is also set to launch Q3 2011.
