The Nokia Play 360° wireless speaker has been announced as Nokia Connection 2011 as part of the new Nokia Gear lineup perfect for use with the Nokia N9 and promises to be one of the best looking and best sounding audio solutions around.

The Nokia Play 360° wireless speaker is something of a new departure for Nokia as the striking single-body mono speaker delivers amazingly high quality audio playback in all directions. Traditional single-speaker devices tend to send the sound out in one direction but the novel design means the audio range is widened so you’ll get a clearer and sharper sound no matter where you are.

You don’t need any wires as you can hook your Nokia smartphone up using Bluetooth or NFC, if you own a Nokia C7 or are looking to get your hands on the Nokia N9, or you can use older devices through the wired 3.5mm audio jack connection. What’s more, if you’re got two of the speakers you can wirelessly tether them to create the perfect stereo setup.

The Nokia Play 360° wireless speaker supports Bluetooth v. 2.1 + EDR, Handsfree Profile 1.5 , Headset Profile 1.0, Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) 1.2 and Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (A2DP) 1.0.

Measuring 110 x 110 x 124 mm and weighing in at 514g, the Nokia Play 360° wireless speaker is compact and highly portable. What’s more, the built-in rechargeable battery offers well over 20 hours of music from a single charge.

Set to cost around 149 Euros, we can expect the Nokia Play 360° wireless speaker to hit the streets in Q3 of 2011.
