Brand new Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01 devices will ship with Nokia Anna pre-installed. Current owners of these devices will get the Symbian Anna update by the end of August, Nokia has revealed at Nokia Summit 2011.

We know the Nokia X7 and Nokia E6 ship with Symbian Anna from launch but if you're looking at buying a Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01 then you'll also be able to get it with Symbian Anna on-board. Shipments start in July.

Symbian Anna is set to bring a new look to Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01 smartphones, as well as any future models, and brings with it a faster web browsing experience, new icons, better mapping features, and improved text input.

The new split screen function, as well as the addition of a Portrait mode QWERTY onscreen keyboard, a feature many users have been hankering after, are among the key changes. However, Nokia Maps offers quicker search, as well as new public transport routes, and check-in to Facebook and Twitter as well as other key social networking apps.

The Symbian Anna update will roll out for Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01 devices as an Over the Air (OTA) update as well as through the Ovi Suite connection on your PC or laptop.

I love using my N8. Yes, it would be nice to have the Portrait QWERTY update sooner. However, I am very satisfied using swype text input via the horizontal keyboard. Best phone I have ever had!!

Like Bina already said, for me it is also a great phone but I do think it’s crazy that they would keep current customers waiting longer. Why not just launce the new software with the new pre-loaded phones, that way you don’t upset your current customer base the way you already have(it’s like rubbing salt into a wound).

Also on another note, why only a six month warranty with you supplied headsets? Mine just broke and now after being messed around by your repair center am having to buy a new set(the price being cheap on ebay is not the point! ).
