Welcome to a new week – though we're not sure we've actually got our breath back from the last one! Last week saw the Nokia Connection 2011 event in Singapore, and it certainly lived up to every expectation. Let's look back at the best bits in our weekly Nokia Nuggets round-up...

Nokia promised us a market-disrupting announcement to top the bill at Nokia Connection, and the Nokia N9 didn't disappoint. But it was by no means the only new handset to surface in Singapore, and there were plenty of other interesting announcements through the week too.

And that's on top of all the usual news, reviews and tutorials we bring you every week from the wider world of Nokia, so let's recap the week gone by in our latest instalment of Nokia Nuggets...

Nokia N9 announced

So Nokia has revealed the Nokia N9, and what an absolute stunner it is! It was the headline announcement from Nokia Connection, and it wasn't just us getting excited, either. The general reception from the wider tech world was highly positive – though that's no surprise when you take a closer look at its formidable tech specs. We also had time to check out two of the fantastic services Nokia N9 owners can look forward to – Nokia Maps and Nokia Drive.

Nokia C2-02, Noka C2-03 and Nokia C2-06 Touch and Type

Nokia showed its commitment to the mass market too this week by dishing up a trio of new Touch and Type handsets, the Series 40 sliders the Nokia C2-02, Nokia C2-03 and Nokia C2-06 Touch and Type. Aside from good looks and a great price, the new arrivals also have plenty of innovation too – delivering Nokia Maps and the Nokia Browser to Series 40 phones for the first time.

Nokia Gear

Nokia also announced the exciting Nokia Gear range of accessories, including the Play 360 wireless speaker, the colourful BH-111 Bluetooth stereo headset and the MD-310 Wireless Music Receiver. They're much more than just your standard mobile accessories, and we got an in-depth preview of both the Play 360 speaker and the MD-310 receiver from the man who designed them both.

Nokia details revealed: Symbian, S40, Qt and more

Aside from actual product announcements, Nokia revealed some interesting details regarding both Symbian and Series 40. Nokia CEO Stephen Elop promised at least 10 new Symbian handset releases in the next year regardless of what happens with Windows Phone, while the significance of Nokia Maps appearing on Series 40 became clearer when viewed in the light of announcements made in Singapore regarding the Qt developer framework.
