The wait is over: Nokia has announced that the touch-friendly Nokia E6 business smartphone is officially on sale across the UK! Read on for all the details.

Nokia E6: 10 things you need to know

Nokia unveiled the Nokia E6 back in April, and it's safe to say we were blown away. It builds on the success of popular business handsets like the Nokia E71 and Nokia E72, but takes things to a whole new level by offering not only a full QWERTY keyboard, but a full capacitive touchscreen too – the first smartphone on the planet to achieve this.

Not only that, but that 2.46-inch display boasts an incredible 326ppi resolution, guaranteeing you pin-sharp quality and detail no matter what you're doing.

For the business user, the Nokia E6 comes with full access to Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Communicator Mobile and Microsoft SharePoint, and features powerful encryption and authentication tools, not to mention the likes of Word, Excel and PowerPoint already pre-loaded.

Running the show is the brand new Symbian Anna operating system, which delivers improvements to Ovi Maps along with various other visual and performance enhancements.

Overall, the Nokia E6 is a fantastic package for the business user who wants something more than just an office-based workhorse, and you can pick one up right now from Carphone Warehouse, Phones 4U, Vodafone or directly from the Nokia Online Shop for £349 SIM-free, or £25 on contract.

Ive just spent all weekend in central london trying to buy a nokia e6. Store after store after store have never even heard of it let alone stock it. I cannot buy it online because nokia have closed the online store and i want to try the phone before i buy. Ive tried nokia customer service but they say use the nokia store finder. Im using a nokia e71 but the store finder does not display correctly on my opera mini browser so i cant get the opening hours of these stores. Im using an opera browser because as everyone knows the native nokia browser is so useless.

Someone should pass this message on to Stephen Elop because if anyone needs an indication of everything that is currently wrong with nokia as a company, this experience is surely it. If you have a customer ready to buy one of your products, you should be doing everything possible to help make that process as easy as possible but instead its a mess without any joined up thinking. Compare this to if i wanted to buy an iphone. I could have breezed into a store yesterday and picked one up in minutes and if i didnt like it return it the next day for a refund. Its that simple.

Nokia though it seems are on different planet – its just a shame its not the one everyone else is on.
