As with other apps that we've seen since the launch of the Nokia N8, the AA app has a polished feel which looks great and is even nicer to use. The main menu is split into five sections – comprising AA Breakdown, AA Roadwatch, AA Insurance, My Reminders and My Details.

Predictably, you'll have to be a member to get the best out of some of the features, but equally there's lots to offer to non-AA members. For instance, clicking on Road Watch will bring up traffic and road information for the UK, including incidents and disruption due to road works.

The app also offers times where roads are expected to re-open again, helping you to plan your routes a bit better.

The app features Ovi Maps integration, letting you find your location in the event of a breakdown, and making it easy to let the services know where you are and get help.

AA Insurance does pretty much what it says on the tin, offering all the different types of AA insurance – from home cover, to car cover, to travel insurance.

Along with the AA Road Watch feature, however, the other option that's most useful for motorists is the My Reminders feature. It lets you set reminders for everything important when it comes to running a car – including MOT dates, tax, service, insurance and breakdown renewal dates.

Overall, the AA app may not seem like the most innovative app on the Ovi Store, but it's actually genuinely useful. From all the reminders, to knowing which roads are suffering from roadworks and traffic jams, it's the ideal app for motorists.
