The aim of the game in Dalton: The Awesome is to stay ahead of the pack of rather swift moving zombies and to jump any and all obstacles ahead of you. Don't let the fact it has rather amateurish cartoon backdrops and that Dalton himself is a stick figure, as this is a fun and rather fast game to play.
You can get hold of Dalton: The Awesome on your Nokia N8 for free from the Nokia Ovi Store. We're not too sure what the actual back story is but in the game you play Dalton and you have to run, run faster than you ever have done before, tapping the screen to jump from rooftop to rooftop dodging the zombies that are chasing you.
It's not only zombies you need to watch out for, the gaps between the buildings will kill you, while metal spikes will force you to lose a heart (you start with three but you can collect more on the way). Then there are oil slicks, which will slow down your progress and let the zombies catch you up.
Don't let the first shambling 'The Waking Dead' type zombies fool you as they soon turn into the quick and nimble sort from '28 days Later', so keeping you're wits about you is vital. There are a range of aids to help you, such as extra hearts to help you live a little longer, to a skateboard, pistol and even the power to turn into a Giant so you can stomp the undead to pulp.
So far so good and while eluding the undead is fun for a while, Dalton: The Awesome lacks real long distance legs. To help add a little more appeal you can collect zombie souls, either by shooting them or jumping directly on top of them. These collected souls can be traded for powerups to your character so you can run and jump for longer.
Don't let the initial look of Dalton: The Awesome put you off downloading it on your Nokia N8. It won't make it on to your top 10 games ever list but for a bit of fun when you're on the commute, it has a lot of appeal.
