The Nokia E6 has landed, the first Nokia smartphone to come pre-packed and loaded with Symbian Anna on-board. This QWERTY smartphone is aimed at business users but anyone looking for a high-end QWERTY device will love what it has to offer.
The Nokia E6 on one level could be seen as a simple extension of the Nokia E71 and Nokia E72 but as soon as you pick it up you see that it's a huge leap forward, so much so that it feels like a completely new device.
Nokia E6: 10 things you need to know
Made from stainless steel and glass, it looks and feels fantastic in the hand. The build quality is great and the slim design makes it highly pocketable. Unlike previous QWERTY devices you'll find the display is touchscreen, so you can use in whichever way you find the most comfortable. The Nokia E6 has the first full VGA resolution screen on this class of device and the 2.46-inch with a 640 x 480-pixel resolution looks sharp and crisp.
When it comes to the QWERTY keyboard, Nokia has gone back to the 37-key layout. This means the Spacebar is larger, so easier to hit when you're typing. This does mean that more keys have secondary functions but the layout feels, as this early stage, intuitive and easy to use.
Symbian Anna ships with the Nokia E6 as standard and looks to have ironed out many of the bugs from the Symbian^3 platform. We really like the fact you can now preview the next homescreen along and the whole OS feels leaner and meaner.
Nokia continues to be ecologically aware with its packaging. The box, for example, is smaller and more compact that past devices, while the cardboard used is 100 per cent recyclable.
We'll be getting to grips with the Nokia E6 over the next few days so if there is anything you'd like us to cover in our review please let us know in the meantime, check out our unboxing photos to see what you have in store.
