Aston Martin Explore is aimed at fans of the famous Newport Pagnell manufacturer, with the app offering everything from new car news, to a virtual tour of the company's latest factory, to a history of Aston Martin.

There's a somewhat pointless 'Accelerator' feature, with the app showing a rev counter and blipping a virtual throttle each time you move the phone sharply.

The news feature is more useful for fans, offering everything you'll need to know when it comes to new Aston Martin releases and appearances. You'll get updates on the company's racing efforts, for instance, along with appearances at events such as the Goodward Festival of Speed.

When you tire of that, you'll be able to check out Aston Martin photographs and videos - both of the company's road cars and racing cars, with impressive snaps around that would make great wallpaper photos.

Overall, Aston Martin Explore is easy to use, fast and a good looking app. We can't help but feel that Aston has missed a trick, however, with no mention at all of dealers or how to book test drives. Sure, lots of users will be fans rather than buyers, but some people will still be seriously interested in finding out more.
