Seeing how high you can climb before gravity claims you for its own seems to be a popular theme at the moment and Jump Monkey Jump, a free game now on the Nokia Ovi Store, is here to join the pack.

The name pretty much give sit all away, you're a monkey with the sole aim of jumping from platform to platform. You can gather bananas and chillis to get more points. While Doodle Jump required for you to tap the screen of your Nokia N8, with Jump Monkey Jump all you need do is tilt your smartphone for the chimp to move from side to side.

The graphics are nice and bright but they're also quite small, which can be annoying. The game play is slick but also quite easy. For instance, if you miss a bounce you can just drop down again and the monkey will gain momentum to go even higher. You lose when you drop down and there is no platform below you.

Jump Monkey Jump is quite slow and sedate and lacks the tricks that Doodle Jump off but it's still a fun game to try out.
