As good as Nokia Maps already is, things never stand still over at Nokia Beta Labs, and Nokia's top-notch mapping service is moving forward with some great new features for drivers. Beyond the name change are a host of updates to the free-for-life service. Check out Nokia Maps 3.08 to find out more...

Nokia gives Ovi Maps the 3D treatment

Nokia Maps version 3.08 is now available for you to try out, and the big news is a host of new features in the Drive function, along with a whole new look.

There's a fresh new dashboard in Drive guidance and Drive assistance, plus live traffic updates so you can stay one step ahead of those traffic jams.

A single tap is all it now takes to switch between Imperial and Metric measures, while you can also now set a contact as a destination and use the long tap in all map and list views.

To finish things off, Drive assistance and Drive guidance have been made easier to access, there are new options menus and some settings have been reorganised.

It's all designed to make Nokia Maps even easier and more intuitive to use for drivers, and you can give it a test drive today by downloading it from Nokia Beta Labs. Just don't forget to leave some feedback if you do!
