The tag line for this app goes along the lines of 'Got 5 minutes to spare? Why not Do Some Good!' and that's precisely what the app tries to achieve. In its purest form it's a list of questionnaires and topics pulled from various charitable organisations that allow you to donate your spare time to answering questions or pitching ideas.

The idea being that you tap on the causes you like the sound of and help out. For example, you could choose to suggest locations where tree planting could help you local environment, answer a questionnaire on The Samaritans, or even just inform a charity how and when you ride you bicycle! The topics are varied and diverse, so there is something there for everyone.
We have to admit, some of the topics fall well outside the five-minute barrier, as some tasks want you to upload videos, which can take longer to film and need greater involvement. However, the trade off is that Orange, the sponsor of the app, offers rewards for all tasks, with longer or more arduous ones getting better rewards. So, if you give 4 hours for good causes, you'll get an exclusive music reward from Orange RockCorps Collective.
The Do Some Good app loads smoothly and quickly on the Nokia N8 and navigating between the various tasks is easy. You can choose between the most popular options and what's new. There is also a Profile section, where you can upload your own photo, which outlines the causes you've helped.
We have to applaud Orange for creating the Do Some Good app. It's helping worthy causes pull together valuable information that can help local and global communities. It's free to download from the Ovi Store and we think it's well worth having on your Nokia Symbian smartphone.
