Symbian Anna may already be with us on the new Nokia E6 and Nokia X7, but for many Nokia users the update to Symbian^3 will only become a reality once it rolls out to existing handsets such as the Nokia N8.
Top 5 changes Symbian Anna brings to Nokia N8
We've been talking a fair bit lately about what Symbian Anna has to offer existing Symbian^3 phones, and we've been getting you talking too about what you're most looking forward to in the new update.
And it's safe to say that if anticipation alone could be taken as a measure of how successful Symbian Anna will be, it'll be smiles all round as the number one sentiment people have been expressing is frustration that Anna isn't actually here yet.
Nokia has clarified that despite Symbian Anna being fully available on the Nokia E6 and Nokia X7, the update for existing handsets will only be issued next month, and it's proving a frustrating wait for many.
But that aside, what are Symbian^3 users – and Nokia N8 users in particular – looking forward to most from their OS overhaul?
Well, a couple of features have been attracting attention both on the Nokia N8 Facebook page and here in the Comments on NokNok.tv, but probably the most anticipated of all is the Nokia N8-specific add-on of 30fps video with continuous autofocus, as revealed in detail by Nokia imaging guru Damian Dinning.
It certainly sounds like a stunning feature, and it's no surprise Nokia N8 users are placing it top of their list of new features to look out for.
As for users of other Symbian^3 smartphones, that feature won't be part of the Symbian Anna deal, sadly. That said, the likes of a faster web browser, a whole new look, a portrait QWERTY keyboard and revamped calendar might go some way towards easing the blow!
