Last week saw us raising an interesting debate: as diehard mobile fans we all want the convenience of having the high-end features offered by the latest and greatest handset.
Read now: What is your secret second Nokia?
But is it worth keeping a second handset specifically for when you're off on a night out, for instance, or heading out for a jog, and if so, what is it? In other words, what is your secret second Nokia?
Well, we've had a load of responses, and we were taken aback by just how many different Nokia handsets are in active circulation as valued second – or sometimes even third – handsets.
Of course, not everyone uses a second phone at all – over on our Nokia N8 Facebook page a fair few commenters said their Nokia N8 was ideal for every need, and of course that's all to the good.
But of those other handsets there were mentioned, we had everything from a Nokia 1110 to the likes of a QWERTY-boasting Nokia E72.
Interestingly, Nokia's XpressMusic phones seem to make ideal second phones – perhaps the music-friendly focus makes them an easy fit as a phone for going out on the town with. Either way, we had several mentions of the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic and especially the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, with the latter getting the nod from four separate commenters.
There was also a fair bit of love for the Series 60 stalwart the Nokia 3230, with its FM radio and full web browser clearly proving after-hours essentials on a night out.
Some even spoke of turning their current second Nokia into a third-stringer, still in active duty but part of a triumvirate of Nokia handsets. Nothing wrong with that if you ask us!
What struck us overall, though, is just how many classic Nokias have proved enduring favourites to the extent that they're still playing an important role in our daily lives. We'd bet not too many other mobile phone makers can boast the same.
Is your second Nokia still a secret? It's not too late to spill the beans – go on, share the identity of your second-string Nokia with the world. There has to be the odd Nokia 3310 or such-like still out there in active duty surely?
