The Nokia 500 is a super-slim and slight smartphone that packs in an amazing array of tech. The 93g body measures in at 111.3 x 53.8 x 14.1 mm and you’ll find a 3.2-inch touchscreen smartphone with 640 x 360-pixel resolution screen.
Running Symbian Anna and packing in a 1GHz processor, the Nokia 500 promises to be as quick and nibble on its feet as you’ll find anywhere, so web browsing, app loading or simply accessing Facebook or YouTube will be easy.
The feature set is also pretty impressive, with 3G support, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built-in. Then there is the 5-Megapixel camera, which may lack Flash but is still powerful for an entry-level smartphone, and with support for 32GB microSD cards you’ll be able to pack it with music, movies and video with ease. The Nokia 500 itself has 2GB of internal memory to get you started. There is also aGPS and Ovi Maps, with free for life turn-by-turn navigation.
Battery life is expected to be most excellent on the Nokia 500 too, with up to 7 hours of talk-time and almost 500 hours in standby mode. This equates to 35 hours of music playback, or just over 5 hours of watching video.
When it comes to price you’ll find the Nokia 500 is set to give the likes of the budget Android smartphones a run for its money, as it’ll costs 150 Euros, before taxes, making this the most affordable Symbian Anna smartphone yet!
The Nokia 500 is set to ship in the third quarter of this year, so any time after the summer, and will initially be available in Black, with a Nokia 500 White Edition joining before the end of the year. To add a little flair to your new Nokia you’ll also find three different coloured backplates, with more coming later in the year for a truly individual look.
