The latest essential piece of Nokia software to be given a once over is the Nokia Ovi Suite – the PC suite that lets you manage every aspect of your Nokia's day-to-day existence, from backing up to syncing and transferring files to checking for updates.

So what does the new Nokia Ovi Suite version 3.1.1.80 offer? Quite a bit, as it happens. For starters, the process of installing apps, games and the like straight to your Nokia phone has been streamlined.

You can now install directly from your Home view in Nokia Ovi Suite, or directly from the Ovi Store site – a useful tweak that makes the software quicker and easier to use in future.

And speaking of speed, the new version of Nokia Ovi Suite also brings with it support for quicker updates in the future, while it also patches over various syncing and stability issues that have cropped up.

Installing the new Nokia Ovi Suite couldn't be simpler. If you already have the suite installed on your PC, simply click on the right-most icon in the main toolbar along the top of the Home view – the Software update icon. The software will then automatically scan to see if a new version of the Nokia Ovi Suite is available, and if so simply follow the prompts to install it.
