The Ovi Store is one of Nokia's key services, and one that many of us use everyday. So it's worth keeping an eye out for the latest update – version 2.12.042 – that will be heading out over the air imminently.

Apps are one of the cornerstones of the modern smartphone experience, and with a huge variety of apps, games, themes and more available from the Ovi Store, Nokia users fare better than most when it comes to getting extra value from their mobile phones.

Now Nokia has dished up Ovi Store v2.12.042, a minor update that is hitting Nokia handsets as we speak.

Nokia hasn't yet revealed what exactly is in the update, but we'd expect it's the usual mix of bug fixes and feature enhancements designed to keep the app store software ahead of the curve.

To check if the update is available for your Nokia handset – so far we're still waiting for it to land on ours – simply launch the Ovi Store and wait for a notification that a new version of the software is available.
