Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners have had a little present from Nokia Beta Labs in the form of an update to Nokia Play To that adds better support for their consoles.
Play To is Nokia's DNLA (Digital Network Living Alliance) app that makes it easy to stream audio and video from your mobile phone directly to a compatible DNLA device. This can be a Blu-ray player, a stereo system, TV or a games console among other gadgets.
As long as your Nokia mobile phone and the DNLA device are on the same wireless network you can just run the app and it will let you send your multimedia to your TV or wherever you like.
The latest update adds better support for large files and video playback on the two main games consoles – the Xbox 360 and PS3 – as well as providing some bug fixes and support for MP4 and Matroshka video files and support for certain Samsung and Phillips TVs.
The Nokia smartphone models currently supported by the Play To app are the Symbian^3 quartet if the Nokia C6-01, Nokia C7, Nokia E7, Nokia N8 and the Symbian Anna-running Nokia X7.
