Nokia has signed a deal with Canadian app developer Polar Mobile to develop more than 300 media apps for Nokia smartphones on both the Windows Phone and Symbian platform over the next 12 months. Read on for the details.
The deal will see Polar Mobile launching apps on Nokia smartphones for a catalogue of “top tier media brands” around the globe, including the likes of Wired UK, Kompas, Advertising Agem The Globe and Mail, Shanghai Daily and 7DAYS”.
The first set of 50 apps under the partnership will be available by the end of next month and will be available globally through the Ovi Store.
To date, Polar Mobile has launched over 1,200 mobile apps for more than 300 media brands across 10 countries, but the deal with Nokia will see that reach expand dramatically with the global scope of the Ovi Store.
