Nokia Drop is without question one of the most exciting new Nokia services to emerge through Nokia Beta Labs in recent times, and it's just become a whole lot better – it's now an integrated part of Nokia's Ovi Store. 

We first caught wind of Nokia Drop earlier in the year when this clever service popped up on Nokia Beta Labs. With the Nokia Drop app installed on your Nokia mobile phone, you're able to send files such as images, maps and the like from a PC-based web browser straight to your phone, and have your phone automatically install them or save them as appropriate.

For instance, if you spot an image on the web you think would look good as your phone's wallpaper, a simple plug-in for your web browser lets you select the image and send it to your phone, where the Nokia Drop app will take care of the rest, and voila – your wallpaper is exactly where you want it.

But now Nokia has taken things to the next level and applied the same principle to apps in the Ovi Store. That's right: Ovi Store is now powered by Nokia Drop, allowing you to send applications, themes, ringtones and the like to your phone without needing the browser extension plugin and without having to wait for an SMS before installing an app.

In fact, if you've selected automatic mode in the Nokia Drop app on your phone you don't need to do anything at all: free app installations will commence as soon as downloading is completed, without any input at all needed from you.

At the moment, this innovative new service is offered through Nokia Beta Labs, and supports Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome browsers.
