Nokia's IdeasProject needs your help! The Mobile Challenge for Ideas to Empower Women is looking for ideas for apps that can help women in work, education and leisure. Submit your ideal app and you could win a Nokia phone of your choice! Read on for the details.
The Ideas to Empower Women challenge launched at the DLD Women conference recently, and is looking to promote mobile apps that can help empower women to lead more active and productive lives.
Women around the world today are faced with numerous challenges and barriers as they seek to make progress in the areas of work, education and leisure. In developed economies, it can be difficult to balance the varying requirements of work, home and other aspects of life with limited time available to go round.
In developing economies, meanwhile, the challenges are often more basic.
Regardless of the circumstances, however, mobile apps have the ability to make a real positive impact in helping women overcome these challenges by becoming better connected and making more efficient use of their time.
And that's where the Apps to Empower Women challenge comes in. The goal is to promote apps that can make a difference in women's lives, whether it's by giving them a voice, providing a new way for women to connect with each other, providing education or helping with time management.
The top app chosen will be developed by a team of women software developers and posted free on the Ovi Store. And the person behind the winning idea plus the two runners up will be rewarded for their efforts with a Nokia phone of their choice.
Submissions close on September 30, so for more information on how to get involved and submit your idea, head over to the Nokia IdeasProject site now.
