We've been talking an awful lot about the likes of Symbian Anna and Symbian Belle, but Nokia has revealed new information to reassure users of three Symbian Series 60 devices eagerly awaiting their own firmware updates.
The news concerns users of the Nokia X6, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, all three of which run the Symbian S60 5th Edition (or Symbian 5.0) operating system.

All three handsets were initially included in a list of Nokia handsets being lined up to receive exciting new features via a firmware update, including the Nokia web browser v7.3 that forms part of the Symbian Anna update, and Nokia Maps 3 SR6, which includes the likes of public transport lines and check-in to social networking sites.
While the other handsets in the list received their firmware updates as part of a global schedule, it initially seemed as if the trio – all of which are among Nokia's older Symbian handsets – might be in danger of not receiving the update at all.
However, Nokia has now confirmed that this isn't the case and that all three will be getting their firmware update in due course, but that because of the handsets' age the update has been made a matter for local regions to decide for themselves, hence the fact that they've been removed from the global schedule.
