Touchscreen phones are all the rage these days, and as you'd expect Nokia has plenty to choose from. And you don't have to pay a premium either: there are several excellent budget-friendly touchscreen smartphones in Nokia's range, each offering a wide selection of features for less than you might expect. Let's take a closer look.
It's not difficult to see the appeal of a touchscreen phone. Aside from the intuitive finger-friendly interface and satisfying tactile feedback, having a touch-sensitive screen means you can do away with the physical buttons, meaning that screen itself can take up the whole of the phone's front.
And while at one stage touch was the sole preserve of expensive high-end devices, that's not the case any more. Let's have a look at our favourite budget Nokia touchscreen smartphones:
Nokia C6-00
The Nokia C6-00 sits right at the high end of the "budget" spectrum, but given what it offers for the money, it's fully deserving of its place here. Not only does it offer a 3.2in touchscreen, but there's also a full QWERTY keyboard that slides out of the side.
That makes it a great all-rounder no matter what your needs are, and the Symbian S60 operating system strikes an ideal balance between versatility and simplicity.

Nokia C5-03
The Nokia C5-03 may be lacking the Nokia C6-00's slide-out keyboard, but otherwise it gives its big brother a good run for its money, and comes in a fair bit cheaper too. The touch-only interface has allowed Nokia to cut down on both size and weight - in fact, this is the lightest and slimmest Nokia touchscreen phone to date.
You have a 3.2in resistive touchscreen, along with a 5-megapixel camera, and the fact that it runs Symbian S60 means you have a huge array of apps ready and waiting to be downloaded from the Ovi Store

Nokia 5230
If you're looking for a phone in Nokia's lineup that epitomises value for money, the Nokia 5230 is it. Sure, some features have been stripped out or omitted - there's only a 2-megapixel camera on board, for instance, while there's no Wi-Fi or supplied memory card.
But the Nokia 5230 has all the other essentials a budget smartphone shopper needs, and is attractive and well made to boot.

Nokia C3-01 Touch and Type
The Nokia C3-01 Touch and Type offers something a little different to its touchscreen compatriots in the Nokia range: it gives you both a traditional candybar keypad and a touchscreen. The dual interface is no gimmick either, with the bright and responsive 2.4in touchscreen combining with the traditional buttons to deliver the best of both worlds for an impressively low price.
