Millionaire City has been around for a few months now, largely thanks to Facebook, but it's now become free on the Ovi Store, giving us a great chance to check it out on our Nokia N8. Check out our Millionaire City on Nokia N8 review.
Millionaire City is a city building game that allows you to tap into your business side and find out whether you have what it takes to become a millionaire.

Making money is the aim of the game and this can be through developing a portfolio of businesses and rental properties. While Sim City and more serious games may prefer a more unified and zoned approach to city building, in Millionaire City greed is good so clustering homes around shops and services makes more money than a neat and orderly city.
Sure, you can beautify your city but this isn’t for the civil good, rents are higher for better looking property zones, so placing plants and monuments next to house makes them more desirable.
The interface for Millionaire City looks initially quite complex but we were surprised at how much you can pack onto the 3.5-inch screen of the Nokia N8. The game runs in Landscape mode only with icons representing the various tasks running along the bottom of it. These range from selecting building plots and buildings, to laying road and even keeping track of your wealth.
As with all city building games you need to manage your expenses against your income but at least with Millionaire City the aims are clear, make as much money as possible, as quickly as you can. Home rentals are a great example of this; you can rent them out on a cheaper, quicker basis to tourists or students, or wait a little longer and get more money from families, pensioners and even pilots.
While the main screen is fast and responds well, switching between the various option screens tends to slow the game down and the number of controls and options you need to remember may well be a barrier for the more casual gamer from getting the most from Millionaire City. However, if you persevere with it there is a great little game here.
Millionaire City doesn’t do anything we’ve not seen on other platforms before but it’s a good looking game that works well and handles smoothly enough to make it worth repeated playing. The fact that it’s also free right now makes it well worth checking out.
