We're into the second half of September now, and that means we're drawing ever closer to possibly the most important three months of Nokia's history. Let's check out the latest Nokia news in our weekly Nokia Nuggets update.

Time is counting down to the arrival not only of the all-important first Nokia Windows Phone, but also the similarly significant launch of Symbian Belle, which will be arriving with a trio of new handsets and via update to all of Nokia's Symbian Anna smartphones.

And in the past week we've had some fairly significant developments on both fronts, so without further ado let's check out the latest Nokia Nuggets to catch up on what's been going on!

Nokia 700 on sale in October

It's the news we've been waiting for: confirmation on when the first Symbian Belle handset will actually go on sale. Thanks to Nokia's Facebook page we now know: the Nokia 700 will go on sale in October via Virgin Mobile. To get you in the mood, we've been looking at the super-slim Symbian Belle handset's suitability as an upgrade option from the Nokia X6 and the Nokia C5-03, as well as how it compares to the Nokia C7 to help you get acquainted with Nokia's new naming convention.

Symbian Belle duo now shipping

To go with the specific on sale news of the Nokia 700 we also heard news this week that both it and its Symbian Belle compatriot the Nokia 701 are actively shipping from Nokia's factory. We shouldn't have long to wait on details on when the Nokia 701 will be on sale, but while you're waiting why not check out its extraordinary family resemblance to the Nokia C7?

Nokia Windows Phone on track for Q4 on sale date

We're just as excited about the first Nokia Windows Phone right now, and that's because we know the days are counting down to our first glimpse of Nokia's exciting future smartphone line. Nokia CEO Stephen Elop has assured us we won't be kept waiting, either, revealing that the much anticipated handset will definitely be on sale before the end of the year, and teasing a few fresh soundbites to go with it. We've been taking our own look at what to expect, and this week we've been focusing on what to expect from the Nokia Windows Phone's camera.

Calling all Innovators: award-winning apps

Apps on the Nokia Ovi Store really do come in all shapes and sizes, but this week has seen the Calling all Innovators 2011 awards singling out the very best for some exciting cash prizes and exclusive exposure. Aside from announcing the winners we've been starting to cast our eye over the apps themselves, starting with the excellent free runner-up app, Poynt

Three months with the Nokia X7

Time certainly flies when you're having fun. After a pretty breathless three months spent in the company of the Nokia X7 we've summed up our experiences of living with the Symbian Anna handset in our Nokia X7 Review: 3 months on. But in the land of Nokia and Symbian right now, time certainly doesn't stand still and we're already getting excited by the prospect of what Symbian Belle will bring to the 4-inch AMOLED touchscreen-equipped handset.

And finally...

The 12-megapixel Nokia N8 is a top-notch camera phone – this much we know – but is it good enough to take pics at a fashion photoshoot? Well, Nokia N8 user Griffith from the Phillippines certainly thinks so, and SymbianTweet has showcased has superb efforts.
