Check out Symbian Belle’s amazing NFC capabilities in action

We know now that we’ll be getting our first taste of Symbian Belle out in the wild just next month courtesy of the Nokia 700, and the more we see the more we like. Our latest glimpse of the Symbian Belle magic is a new video clip revealing more about its exciting NFC features.

Is NFC the real highlight of Symbian Belle?

We’ve had a month or so to get used to Symbian Belle and the three handsets announced alongside it – the Nokia 600, Nokia 700 and Nokia 701.

And while it’s natural to focus on the physical presence of great new hardware, it’s Symbian Belle that’s the real hero, and there’s no doubt about it: we can’t wait to see it in action.

One of the features that really looks set to elevate Symbian Belle above anything Symbian has offered before is full NFC integration.

Nokia has put its years of NFC research and development into practice to stunning effect with some great practical new features using the close-range data transfer technology. These include Tap to Pair and Tap to Share, which respectively let you communicate effortlessly with compatible accessories, and share photos, contacts and the like between Symbian Belle phones just by tapping them against each other.

It sounds great in theory, but it works even better in practice, and Nokia Germany has shown us just how much in a stunning new video showing off Symbian Belle’s NFC smarts in action in more detail than we’ve seen before.

Specifically, the video shows how elegant and painless connecting your Symbian Belle handset to high-end compatible audio gear will be, and how simple the system makes controlling tunes, volume and the like all from your Symbian Belle touchscreen.
